Ale Bachlechner (b. 1984, lives and works in Cologne) is a performance and video artist and works on issues of the real and media presentation of the individual and society. She studied comparative literature at the Universität Innsbruck before receiving her diploma at the Kunsthochschule für Medien in Cologne. Bachlechner has shown her videos at Art Cologne and the Videonale at the Kunstmuseum Bonn, among other places, and also given performances in Germany, Austria, France, Palestine, and Lebanon. She has been awarded the DAAD-Preis, the Förderprogramm Junge Szene der Kunststiftung NRW, and the Recherche- und Arbeitsstipendium für Bildende Kunst of the City of Cologne. Bachlechner is currently working in the City Center Studio collective in Cologne.
